International Carbon Giants and Jin Enterprise Jointly funded the construction of Carbon Material Production Base

Feb. 17, 2012 China News Service jiaocheng, February 14 (Ren Lina) Shanxi Jiaocheng County government 14th news, Shanxi Hongte Coal chemical Indusaty Co., Ltd. introduced the world’s largest carbon material manufacturing company Germany SGL Group as a strategic partner, strive to build Shanxi Hongte Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. into the world’s largest and most competitive production base of new carbon materials in 3-5 years.

The two projects of cooperation between Shanxi Hongte Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and SGL are needle coke and UHP graphite electrode. The total amount of the joint venture is 4 billion YUAN, with each party holding 50% of the equity and operating in the form of equity acquisition.

The jiaocheng County government said that after 12 months of joint venture negotiations, assets appraisal, due diligence and other work have been completed, two joint venture agreements and 10 subsidiary agreements have been signed, the registration of domestic capital for two projects has been completed, and the joint venture has entered the approval and establishment procedures of the joint venture company.

SGL Group-the Carbon Company is the world’s largest and most advanced manufacturer of Carbon graphite materials, composites and related products. Its major shareholders are BMW, Volkswagen and Krupp (the world’s largest steel Company). SGL is a world leader in the manufacture of UHP graphite electrode products, carbon fiber and carbon fiber composite materials.

It is reported that Shanxi Hongte coal chemical Industry Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises with the largest scale and deepest processing depth in China’s coal tar processing industry, and it is the only enterprise that can industrialize the production of coal series needle coke in China.

Wu Liansheng, chairman of Shanxi Hongte Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., said that in recent years, with the acceleration of China’s industrialization and infrastructure construction, the demand for graphite electrodes and cathodes has been increasing. Through this strategic cooperation, the two sides will use complementary advantages and respective expertise to work together. (END)
